This is not a very well managed course. We played on a Sunday afternoon and the first nine holes were played at a very good pace. On hole 11, we found a group of 8 on the green, playing very slowly. We called the clubhouse who sent out a ranger. Once the ranger left the group, they began to skip around to tee boxes with no golfers on them. Two holes later the group of 8 showed up on hole 13, once again on the green. After our round, we inquired about this practice with the pro shop manager. He said the group is there frequently and typically play fast enough that they do not bother anyone. When asked if they permit skipping around the course, the manager said yes. It was our first time playing the course, and suffice it to say, we will not be back. We frequently play the sister course, Green Hills, and have never seen this type of management from them. If you golf this course be prepared for some unorthodox management practices.

As a member, I find Woussicket to be a shotmakers golf course and pretty interesting with the varying winds making the course play differently each day. Greens are typically very good speed, but players need to know where the pin is located on the green. Play can be extremely slow, so the rangers need to develop some skills to keeep players moving.
