Cumberland Trail Golf Course is one of several courses in the Central Ohio area but it was able to separate itself from others thanks to its playability. The course offers a fair challenge that is approachable to a wide range of skill levels. Five sets of tees allow golfers to further adjust the round to their abilities. The golf course has large greens that make recovery shots possible but three-putts are also common. The greens are deceptive since each slope in several directions, creating greens on some holes that are much smaller. The front nine is an open, link-style layout while the back nine cuts through woods and natural wetlands. Careful course management as well as some skill with the putter guarantees a good score. the toughest hole at Cumberland Trail Golf Course is the par-4 seventh, which features trouble at every turn including grassy mounds, trees, and out-of-bounds.
