The semiprivate New Albany Links Golf Club, designed by Barry T. Serafin in 2000, delivers tee times open to the public with the feel and amenities of an exclusive country club. The private club vibe comes from its many members, busy calendar of social and golf events, swim and tennis programs and top conditioning and service. The golf course's opening par 4 is among the toughest in the region. The second hole requires a tee shot over a bunker in the middle of the fairway. From there, seven water hazards lurk dangerously throughout the 7,004-yard layout, ready to swallow wayward shots.

Course has great potential. Very nicely laid out... From the 'black' tees very challenging and both hazard and bunker placements make you think on every shot.

Not a wide open links course that rewards long, erratic drives. If your not straight your in trouble, and even if your straight you might find yourself in a fairway bunker.

Biggest complaint I have is that this course does not take water very well. Deep bunkers have a tendency to have sitting water in the bottom and if your not walking the course -- be careful of the cart paths which surprisingly for such a new course are falling apart in spots.

Worth it for $30 on a weekday or twighlight rate? Absolutely. $50+ on the weekend? Many much better courses on the North/East Side (BlackHawk, Blackick Woods, etc.) that can beat the price and have a more consistent course.

If they really took care of this course it could be a gem...as it is...its above average and can be quite fun.
