Upper Lansdowne Golf Course was designed by Ohio native Jack Kidwell, who contributed many courses to his home state. Originally opened as a nine-hole course in 1961, Kidwell came back in 1995, along with Michael Hurdzan, to design another nine holes. Now at 6,748 yards from the tips, the golf course offers a good amount of length without being overly strenuous. The course begins with a fairly gentle front nine but the terrain gets hillier as you move onto the back. Kidwell incorporated a variety of challenges throughout including strategically placed sand traps and contoured mounding. Water also comes into play on a few holes, most notably on Upper Lansdowne Golf Course' signature, the par-3 15th. This hole plays downhill to a peninsula green. You’ll have to stick it or you’ll likely end up in the water.

- I have golfed there off and on for the past 15 years. It's a country course with a really nice layout. It's reasonably price but could use some work here and there but nothing major. This past memorial day I made a 10:15am tee time. When I arrived they had ran out of carts. There was a foursome in front of us waiting as well. I inquired to the associate in the pro shop and she had no response. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but according to my calculations to get a cart at my tee time the first group would have had to tee off at 6am. I waited another 30 min,got my money back, called the course down the road for a tee time and went there instead. I may never go back.This course has come a long way in just a few short years....with all new staff and a new grounds crew, these guys have really turned this place around. I also heard that the Superintendent is doing all this with a staff of 4.....wow! The greens here are like no other I have ever played....and the fairways are in good condition too. It is a must play course if you have never been to this hidden gem.
