has some interesting and challeging holes.
Was a little wet on ground. Rough was a little high. I think weather may have prevented mowing. Greens were slow and damp.
Interesting course, but not well marked
The front nine and the back nine are certainly quite different. While the conditions were good for the most part, the course is not marked very well. Both in terms of yardage markers, and the location of the next hole.
Quirky course with two completely different nines
Overall the course was in very nice shape and the facilities were just fine. The staff was pleasant and courteous. The food at the turn was really good. Hot dog with sloppy joe's and mozzarella cheese....So good!! What I did not like about the course was the back nine. The front nine was typical and wide open. The back nine was tight with a lot of unusual shots. The famous Z hole is just not fun for me. FYI...I parred the hole so I was not mad at the score. It was just a weird hole and I am not a fan of it. Course knowledge is the key to this course especially on the back nine and I did not have any of that and it cost me several strokes for sure. Not a bad course....Just not a course for me. I played it once and that is enough for me. I can say that I played that course and that is that. Give it a try if you like quirky golf holes. Give it a try if you want to take on the famous Z hole. This course is just not one of my favorites and there are so many other courses that are closer to home and more my taste.
Everything They say is accurate
We came from Baltimore to see the Hall of Fame inductions and stopped here on the way to the hotel. We were greeted by a friendly young lady who gave us a few tips (much needed it turned out). W'e got to go out about 15 minutes early and they sold Labatt's Beer-haven't seen that in years. The front nine plays a little easy so it kinda of lulls you asleep and then the back nine comes at you and the type of game changes to a shot by shot placement game. A definite tale of 2 nine's. The par 3 15th was fun for all of us. Only 1 par though as it was deceivingly difficult. Great job and we will be sure to come back again the next time we are in the area.
Excellent overall
Course has been getting better over the last few years, especially the greens. Staff is friendly, and they have a wine bar also and many different beers.
Unique back nine
Fairways and greens in good shape. Bcbk nine is unique.
Slow play
Nice course, extremely slow play. They need somebody (rengers) to be on the course all the time in order to regulate the speed of the play.
Back nine
Front nine is average - the back nine feels life your playing in a different state - it is one of my favorite back nines in Ohio.
not good
Will never play this course again. This was the most expensive round I've played all year, they over charged based on the rate that I was quoted off of Golf Now, can play other courses for 50% of the cost that are much better. Very poor up keep, many holes make no sense, with ridiculous dogleg angles. Target golf at its worst, extremely short holes. Half are down and back in a field and horrible, the others that are in the hills are just pretty stupidly designed.
Sorry to be so negative, but I have never left the course as disappointed as I did that day, and my playing partners all agreed
Staff very friendly, back nine to gimicky
Had a very good experience with all the staff that we came into contact with. They were friendly and helpful. The front nine was nice to play, except we had a threesome in front of us that slowed play down considerably. Wondered were any staff was to push them along. Then you get to the back nine, where if you are not on your game, it could be a very long 9 holes of golf. The par 5 double dog leg hole is in my opinion, a very poorly design. Those that are long hitters like a chance to reach the green with 2 great shots. Not a chance here.
Fun challenge
My girlfriend and I love to play this course.
Even though it's an hour away it's wonderful to go there. Nice lay up course. Especially for men. Who end up in the woods. Pretty good if the course. Fun par3's & 2 par (6) for women.
Easy and hard
Front side not to hard. Back side is narrow and much more difficult. Need more and better yard marker.
Get ready for a challenging back 9 of golf !!!
First time playing this course and was not disappointed. Overall condition of the course I would give it a 8.5 out of 10. You loose a point for hard sand less sand traps. Fix these & you really got a nice course. Front nine is prime for low scores. Small greens through out the course so you need to be able to get up & down to score well on missed greens. Back nine I rate as one of the toughest in the area. Tight fairways & huge elevation changes. You need to trust your swing along with a couple of Hail Mary's & you'll make it through alright. Nice scenic course. Staff was very courteous and overall I had a great experience at Brandywine C.C. & will definitely go back to play again !!!
Nice front 9
Only problem was my partner was injured after nine holes and unable to continue. The deal was great, but it was for 18 holes. Staff refused to give a rain check for the remaining 9 holes stating " we don't make any money on these." They did say if golfnow called them, then they would say yes.
Brandywine CC
First 9 is fairly open and easy, back 9 is always a challenge. However, due to recent heavy rain, the rough was very high and difficult and the back 9 was cart path only, so needless to say, the round was tough.
take it or leave it
It's just "OK" the conditions are average, greens were slow and don't hold well. Design is ok on front nine, the back nine is gimmicky and I did not care for it at all. Scenery and nature is awesome, but I am not hiking I am golfing here. Wouldn't go out of my way to play again.
well worth the money.
Booked on golfnow for a great deal. played with a friend visiting. the course has a great layout of traditional tree-lined old courses and beautiful surrounding for the first 9. back 9 has most of the holes very challenging but interesting.
Tough back nine.
A very nice course. It will cause you to use different clubs off the tee. The back nine is tight and very challenging. The back nine fairway is damp in spots. Worth playing if you want to test different club selections off the tee. Will play it again.
Front nine open, back nine tight
Very scenic course, back nine greens were aerated and tees in poor shape, front nine very nice.
Nice Course!
Hadn't played here in 30 years. The trees are much bigger now on the more open front nine! The back nine is very tight.
