The Fairways at Twin Lakes was formerly a private club but is now open to the public. The golf course is situated just two miles from Kent State University and conveniently just a few minutes from 1-480. The nine-hole layout has a traditional design with gently rolling fairways and small greens. While it may not be the golf course you're looking for if you want a truly formidable test, the layout does have some bite to it. You'll want to pay close attention on your approach to the greens. They're fast and it's nearly impossible to stop some shots on the down slope. There are also a few narrow landing areas where you'll need to exercise caution. The Fairways at Twin Lakes course isn't overly difficult but you won't be able to just grip it and rip it. Good course-management is essential for scoring well.

This course is in absolutely beautiful condition. I could use the word stunning. I played it in 1953 and 1954 when it was Kent Roosevelt High School's golf team home course. It is wonderful to play it again since it is public.
The layout is not overly long but one has to be careful because there are places that you just don't want to be; places that can add numbers to your score - fast! It is one of those courses that you need to play once to learn its devious secrets.
The new owners have done wonders with it. The sand in he deep bunkers is of a high quality and the greens are true. While knowing what lies ahead can make you tremble with trepidation, if you like a challenge, you'll go back.
I play a lot of courses and there is none in the area in finer condition. It is where I learned to play in probably 1948. It will always be my favorite.I played this course for the first time last week. The course was pretty nice. I went at 7:30am and the golf carts were soaked from the dew the night before. The cart paths were also not very well maintained for a formerly private course. All in all i would play this course again but would most likely play at a later time so that i dont soak myself while playing.
