easy course. well maintained.
Fun! Lots of opportunities for par and birdies. Very good pace of play.
course was well maintained and grens rolled true.
Played 18 holes in 2 1/2 hours. Very enjoyable day. Course was well maintained with fairways not full of divots and roughs manageable. Greens were quick but true and in good shape. The staff was very friendly. Groundskeeper came up to me while I was practicing and gave me some tips on how the greens had been playing.
Good little shot makers course.
Dad (a senior)and I had a good time at this course, played in under 4 hrs.A short course which helps pace of play.A little unusual in the fact that there are 2 number nine holes. If you play nine you go towards the clubhouse,18 you go across the train tracks to a number nine on the backside. Of course we went the wrong way first, but got 19 for 18 Lol.We liked it so much we came back the next day.
in front of you
a great track that mainly sets up right in front of you. get used to the train. keep your ball in the fairway... trust me. the greens are not huge so be prepared to scramble ALOT
Good Course
I enjoyed playing the course at Kent State. The course was well maintained and the staff was very helpful. It was a great course for any level of golfer and was very affordable. The only problem I had was it was very slow play. There were two groups in front of me that played extremely slow and would not let us pass. Overall it was a good course and for the price I will be going back!
A different layout.
An odd routing. No par fives on the front. There are two ninth holes one taking you back to the clubhouse the other takes you over a set of railroad tracks to the back nine(ten). The back side is picturesque, however there are no restrooms or other enmities.
decent course
Decent course, fair amount of water and sand, but the rough seems to eat your golf balls so watch them CLOSELY!
i always enjoy playing this course
not just back and forth hole alignment. lots of good shots needed.
Good round of golf. Train was loud.
Slow players on course let us play through. Course was fairly well kept, but improvements definitely could be made.
Fun little course
Played this course for the first time because of a great deal from golfnow.com. This is a short course that places a premium on accuracy over length. Well maintained, the fairways were in good shape and the greens rolled true and smooth. It's an interesting layout, being par 33, 37. The front is short and hilly, you won't need driver much on this side. The back seems newer, and is a little more traditional in distances and lay out, and you will use a much wider variety of clubs and shots. My only complaints would be that the sand traps leave a lot to be desired, and with it being a college course, expect to see a few real hacks in tshirts and jorts. The sand was more like dirt with rocks in it, after my first trip into a bunker, my buddy and I decided to play the sand as ground under repair the rest of the round. We flew through the round, but ran into a couple groups of college age kids who didn't look to be familiar with the game. And a lot of jumpers on be course (groups and singles were just jumping around playing holes that were open.) We would have to wait on the tee for a somebody, but by the next hole they were nowhere to be found. A little while later you would see them somewhere else on the course. All in all a fun little course and a great value. I would recommend this course to friends, and look forward to playing again.
Too cheap to complain
Overall course was in average condition. At a rate of $10 for 18 in a cart the value is still great. The greens require some attention but still a great value.
This course was very well maintained!!
Was amazed at how well maintained this course is, especially considering the weather we have had recently. Everything is green and beautiful. Loved the fact that the women's tees are as well maintained as the men's. The back 9 is more challenging than the front. The staff was helpful and friendly. My husband and I both enjoyed playing here. We will definitely return!
I thought the course had a beautiful green look in the greens and plant life.
I think the course looks very well keep and green. I do think that if was lacking hazards to challenge a golfer. I would like to be able to see a hole overview at the tee. I was very surprised at the speed of the green considering how much moisture from the night before but it a nice surprise.
This course gets a lot more difficult back 9.
A good value for the money, and with enough challenges to remain fun and interesting. The back 9 gets a lot longer, and a lot of blind shots.
Good mix of challenges
Seems short but does not play that way. Very well maintained. Great staff. Very relaxed atomoshere
Enjoyed the course. It was well maintained.
The course was nice and the staff was friendly and courteous.
Thank you for playing here at Kent State. We do realize that a few of our bunkers are in need of renovation. We are currently fixing several bunkers and will continue this process until they are all finished. We look forward to seeing you out here again and many more times in the future.
