Mastodon Golf Club

Located between Newark and Hebron, Mastodon Golf Club (formerly known as Burning Tree Golf Course) is one of the area's most affordable rounds. The player-friendly layout starts out with a gentler front nine before moving on to a more challenging back nine. The golf course sprawls across mostly flat terrain though there are some subtle elevation changes on the back nine. Water comes into play on occasion and there are a few strategically placed bunkers to watch out for. Mastodon Golf Club offers a good solid round for players of all skill levels but it may not be what you're looking for if you want a truly formidable test. Mastodon Golf Club is known for more than just the golf: During the excavation of the course in the '80s, a mastodon skeleton was discovered.
