Blackhawk Golf Club sprawls across verdant, gently rolling terrain that provides a picturesque setting and ideal landscape for a round of golf. The family-run course has been one of central Ohio's most popular public golf courses since opening in 1964. The club has built its reputation on its friendly atmosphere and extremely affordable rates. Experienced golfers and beginners alike will find the course enjoyable thanks to the beautifully manicured fairways. The greens are slightly undulating and require a bit of strategy. There is a stream that cuts through the golf course as well as a number of small ponds that come into play on six holes. Bunkering is sparse but there are a few strategically placed along the greensides. Blackhawk Golf Club's 11th hole is notable for being one of the course's most scenic and also one of its most challenging.

This course was in great shape.
Pace of play very good. Greens in good shape as well as bunkers.
Rain but no rain check.
Course in pristine condition. Greens were lightning and rolled great. Started to rain and we asked for a raincheck Was told "we don't give rainchecks for hot deals". Will not return to play again.
golf carts were driving a little strange!!
Good price and the course is in wooded areas and will challenge you to use all of your clubs.
Solid course
The place is really nice. Course is in great shape. Greens are beautiful. With that said...
This is not a course for your average amateur weekend golfer. I would compare to players course at foxfire.
Greens are wicked fast, punishing rough, well placed bunkers and water, tough forced carries.
Hit em Straight !
Blackhawk is a beautiful golf course with lots of dog legs, tree lined fairways and severe elevation changes. It's not very long, so if you hit a straight ball you can score well here. If you don't, get ready for lots of punch outs, blind shots and a long day.
Singin' in the Rain
Saturday was overcast, and it rained for the first few holes, but the course was both safe and beautiful. Cart paths in good repair as well.
My buddy and I are both 68 and low-20s handicap, and we like to play four hours or less if possible. A little slow on the front side, but we were still 4:10 for the round.
This is clearly a golfers course, lots of walkers even in hilly terrain. We were waived through on the back side by a nice foursome in front of us.
The landscape and the fairway and green conditions were top rate, and it is clear that golfers replace divots and repair ball marks, a sign of good clientele in my book.
A few blind second shots and water comes into play on the back side, but a totally fair layout.
Would play again.
Nice, friendly staff and well kept course.
One of the most enjoyable, challenging courses. Good mixture of hills, water, rough, and bunkers!!
rained out but fun
Only made it through 16 holes before the deluge, but still a fun round. First time on the course, but enjoyed the layout, hilly, good mix of short and long holes. Greens were excellent. Definitely will be back again.
Nice Kidwell Course
Greens are in excellent shape, lots of elevation changes, nice layout overall, but stay to the right on #16, your only real option is to chip back to the right side from the entire left half of the fairway. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I don't know if it's worth the full weekend rate but it's a great value with Golf Now.
course still has a few challenging holes.
Maintenance was good and they are trying hard to leep uwith course reputation.
still got it
This course has still got what it takes. It is long from the blue tees and challenging. It is also in good shape and well maintained.
Good value!
Great Course layout!
Great Course layout, trees, hills, not much water. Greens in the past hard, but better now. Thumbs Up!
Great Time
Excellent course and layout. I hadn't played here in about 12 years. You'll use every club in your bag. Definitely will be back.
Awesome Course
Great course and a great time with son on fathers day.
Slowest pace in the city !
I've played this course a few times but pace of play always seems to ruin a good course. I played as a twosome and the front took about 1.5 hours. Got to the back and the wait started. We finally saw the hold up A FIVESOME !!!!!!! Measuring distance to the cup even !!! This course is great the staff and the pace keep me and my partners from playing this course. I'll probably try again in the fall to see if it ever is good pace.
clean course good price
Nice course for the money. Very open so of your first shot is off you should be able to recover. Greens were in good shape.
Great Course and Staff
Columbus golf doesn't get a whole lot better than Blackhawk. Excellent course in great condition paired with a friendly staff! Can't beat this place!
Memorial Day golf
Slow play, no attempt by course management to manage the pace of play.
For $30, reasonable price for course, however not worth the standing around and waiting on every shot.
Great course
Beautiful course, we'll maintained, enjoyed our round for a great price.
